Inclusivity: We recognize that everyone is different, and those differences should be recognized and respected.
Community: We value connections and recognize that we often need the support of others to grow and heal.
Flexibility: The standard weekly therapy format isn't a good fit for everyone - we tailor our therapy to make sure it's the most helpful to you.
We provide systems-based therapy services to help you care for your individual mental health and relational health. Our goal is to help you heal and grow towards a better, more confident you.
What is systems-based therapy?
Systems therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on how our own individual cycles, as well as the actions of others and larger society, impact our mental health. We seek to use our approach to break those cycles and help you to create new ones, whether that be individually, with your partner(s), or with your family.
Dr. Kaity Swecker (they/them) is the founder and owner. They graduated with their Master's in Couple, Marriage, and Family Therapy in 2023, and graduated with their Ph.D. in Couple, Marriage, and Family Therapy in May 2026, which they pursued in order to have more expertise in their field to better support their clients.
They are an absolute nerd who DMs Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, plays video games, and reads books of all stripes in their free time. Kaity lives in Lubbock with their partner, cat, dog, and massive amounts of plants.

At A New Chapter Therapy, we don't follow a "traditional" business model. Because of our values, our priorities lie with ensuring the highest quality care for our clients and ensuring that we're supporting our clinicians.
We will intentionally hire and will be a team of diverse clinicians with diverse life experiences from historically underrepresented minorities in the therapy field.
We value preventative care for clients AND clinicians - this means that we work to prevent compassion fatigue and healthcare worker burnout.
We seek to support initiatives and causes that support the community - what is helpful for the most vulnerable supports us all.

We are living through hard times right now - many of us feel divided, isolated, and lacking community we crave. So I wanted to create a resource to help. As part of my Thrive Together initiative, I've created two things: a Discord server and a monthly email list. Join the monthly email list for a resource of the month, good news, and initiatives that people are running to make the world a better place. We can't stick our head in the sand, and we also cannot continue to repeat the endless social media doomscroll issue. The email list also allows you access to the Discord server, where you can find and engage in community with others. The purpose of this server is for you to meet like-minded people, make friends, and engage in conversations that aren't really that easy on places like Threads, TikTok, or Instagram.
Be sure to join the email subscriber list to get access to these two things - which will always be free.
